Hi, my name is Adrienne Wei and
I’m a fertility coach.
I’m a Holistic Nutritionist and Creator of the Practically Fertile™ Program for fertility and hormone balance. I’m also a board certified Fertility Acupuncture Specialist (ABORM) and Integrative Fertility Coach. I’ve been helping women become mothers for over a decade, and I want to help you, too!
I understand first hand the emotional and physical stress you’re under right now and the hoops you’re jumping through. Just like many of you, I struggled with hormonal issues, specifically Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, or PCOS. I remember feeling confused, scared, alone, and worried that I would never be able to have a baby.
After my own success in conception with help of Chinese medicine and working hard to get my body balanced, guiding women through their conception journey became my number one passion!
Normally, you would expect me to give you a boring list all of my qualifications, education, certifications, and reasons you should listen to me. Okay, maybe I’ll list a few of my qualifications so you don’t think I’m just a bum off the street! At the end of the day, a robot can have all the knowledge in the world, but I highly doubt that you’d want to share something as personal and intimate as the TTC experience with a robot. That’s why I’m here to be your coach.
This journey is hard enough with its roller coaster of ups and downs. A lot of times, we’re so focused on achieving the end result of pregnancy, that sometimes we forget to pay attention to the little things in life that bring us joy. I’m here to help you with that along the way, too!
We forget to smell the roses (cliché, I know), laugh, and just be present in the moment. So, with that said, I’m going to lighten things up a bit with a few facts about me!
10 Things You Didn’t Know About Me
1. I Knew My Calling
I knew immediately after graduating acupuncture school (Pacific College of Oriental Medicine) that it was my calling to help women conceive. I decided to pursue the highest certification possible in my field by becoming a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Medicine (ABORM) and becoming a certified Integrative Fertility Coach.
2. I’m a Mom
I’m a mom to a beautiful five-year old girl. Her name is Genevieve. I struggle daily with the career / life / mom / wife / friend balance. I definitely don’t have it “all together,” but I have learned to embrace the journey!
3. I Love Shopping
Shopping is my therapy. I’m a Stitch Fix addict and receive my “fix” once a month. I usually keep everything! My obsession with it goes beyond just emptying my wallet every month. I am part of a group on Facebook specifically for fellow addicts. It’s like a marketplace where people buy, sell, and trade their Stitch Fix items.
4. Pumpkin Everything
I’m a pumpkin fanatic. That’s one of the reasons why Fall is my favorite season. I’m surprised that I haven’t become a pumpkin with all the pumpkin spice lattes (made with almond milk because I’m dairy-free,) pumpkin pies (a splurge,) and pumpkin chili (it’s amazing,) that I eat in during the cooler seasons.
5. Career Change
My life prior to Chinese medicine and holistic fertility coaching was in Corporate America. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. It took me three years to realize that I was in the wrong profession! I quit my job and moved to Atlanta without knowing anyone. I worked in sales going door-to-door selling phone services, eventually enrolling in acupuncture school in New York City. I guess you could say that the rest is history!
6. I Love Zombie Movies
This is a real shocker for most people, but it’s true. I’m a serious zombie-enthusiast, for reasons unknown. I’ve watched most zombie movies and my Show-Of-The-Moment is (…drumroll…) The Walking Dead!
7. I Love Wine
I never say no to a glass of pinot noir. One of the pleasant surprises I discovered about my husband on our first date, was that we shared the same obsession for pinot noir from the Willamette Valley in Oregon. I guess the marriage was meant to be.
8. I’m Honest & Open
I’m very transparent about my lifestyle. I’m not the type of coach who advocates for a 100% sugar-free diet while secretly eating donuts in the back office. I believe in moderation and have adopted an 80/20 principle on just about everything. You’ll see me eating a slice of cake, having a glass of wine, and skipping a workout at the gym.
9. My Secret Ingredient
My secret ingredient for making vegetables taste good for even the pickiest eater is chicken broth! I add a bit of coconut or olive oil to the pan, throw in some veggies, and ¼ cup of chicken broth. I then let everything simmer for a few minutes. That’s how I got my husband to eat cauliflower and my five-year-old to eat broccoli!
10. I Love a Sunny Room
My happy place is any sunny room that has an oversized chair with an ottoman and a cozy blanket. I realized a long time ago that things that make me happy don’t need to cost anything … other than the cost of the chair and blanket!
